There are so many comments made in this article about what trends are without any base line data. "Things are getting worse." If this is said enough times, we start to believe it whether or not there is any basis in fact. Then our perception becomes fact.

This doesn't sound any different than the laments of new MLS students in other times.

One interesting point. If in fact formerly MLS jobs are being converted to paraprofessional positions at a new and alarming rate, then the job prospects for paraprofessionals should be booming. So far there is little evidence to support any of this.
